Enzo is now 4.5 months and is eating solids and sleeping through the night. He is a DREAM baby. Everyone says he has no choice but to be easy but not sure about that! Bruno ( my 3rd) had colic for the first year and cried endlessly. It was a blur. I just did Anything to survive and sadly didn’t enjoy much of his first year. It took 15 months for him to sleep through the night! With that said, Enzo is probably gonna Pay me back by being a horrible teenager! 😜
We started him off with solids using “little spoon” it’s a fresh baby food delivery service. I made all the other boys food but truthfully the 4th time around I’ll do whatever makes life easier 🤣. He’s loving all the different blends. It’s definitely more advanced than I could make! It’s tailored to every babies age.
We have weaned off of breast-feeding. Our journey was pretty easy but at the end had a couple bumps. With us traveling, and me trying to give more time to my older boys it became much more difficult. Two really bad bouts of mastitis and clogged ducts was probably the end of the road for me. For the first four months, we exclusively nursed and never used any bottles. All while I was pumping extra to save for future use. I’m happy about the special time we had. I definitely wished we could’ve continued a bit longer. But in the end, I’m happy, he’s happy and that is what matters to us. I nursed all my babies from 6 to 9 months. I plan on nursing for at least six for Enzo but sometimes things don’t work out the way you want them to. I’m a busy mom of four, and don’t need to be a breast-feeder to know that I am a good mom. I’m super confident in my other momming skills 🤣.
Something I do want to tell you about that was company I used (that some of you told me about!) is Milk Stork . I had a freezer full back in Chicago that I needed to transport to our Naples home. So that baby Enz could continue on breast milk until he was 5/6 months. I’ve looked everywhere and had quotes from Fed ex/dry ice. They were was well over $500. Finally I asked my readers on my Insta stories if they had any recommendations and a lot told me about this amazing company. Today, I just received my last couple boxes of milk that arrived in less than 24 hours after I pack them. I used the Willow so their bags fit perfectly inside the NanoCool frozen milk boxes. The process was really easy (C, or more like his secretary, Hey Carrie!) Packed up all of my frozen milk into their boxes that they had shipped to me. There’s a prepaid label, you pack and they can come pick it up from your location. They make it super easy. It’s more for use when you are traveling so you don’t need to fly with your milk. So if you were staying at a hotel and pumping while you’re there, you would book your box to arrive at the hotel and then overnight them to your house.
PostPartum- breastfeeding helps me drop weight but I’m someone who keeps an extra 5lbs on while I’m nursing. The minute I stop I lose this. I’m now below my prepregancy weight. My body is a bit looser and definitely losing tone as I’m not able to work out as much as I was. Life gets crazy with its ups and downs. Update on this old post- Unfortunately, my nanny didn’t work out and I’m without help but we will survive! 💪🏽 C travels for work while we are here so its me doing the solo mama deal for a while. #NOWHIRING 😅 Kidding, I have found a unicorn (feeling very hopeful) that will fit perfectly into our family. She doesn’t start until another month or so. I’m now back to my living room workouts or trying to sneak out early am/ late pm. I’m just a better person when I get my work out in. Plus, I have so big things in the works so I will need help with mom life. 🌟
Florida life is so chill. Literally that the best verb I can think of- describing it to you all. We don’t do much. I shoot my content as the days go on. If you noticed it more lifestyle and not professional. Would love to know your thoughts on this! While I love getting dressed up and showing you looks, I am currently showing you my real life (as it is now!). We go to the beach, take walks, watch our kids sport games. We soak in life outside and by the water. I can’t tell you the last time I wore make up or went out for a date night. We do like to save up our sitter time for nights away or quick trips! Otherwise we are pretty much relaxed while we are here. We head back to Chicago May 31st and I’m totally not ready for the hustle and bustle but I’m sure I’ll get there when the time comes! We have started renovating all of our bathrooms in our Chicago home and will post on them once I see them (again I’m doing a surprise reveal-for myself as well) AKA I don’t want to deal with the design aspect therefore I’m not picking one thing out. I will see it once I get home 😆. Remember when I did that with my kitchen last year? I didn’t see it or pick anything and it was better than I could have dreamed! You all thought I was crazy but I’m happy with whatever. I always say pick the right people and let them do what they are good at!
